Arvi.... oh my favourite dish! Arvi is a vegetable normally comes in late Summer season in Pakistan. It is actually a root. It looks like ginger but its color is brown which is due to root hairs on it. After removing these root hairs, it becomes white. It is cooked in many ways like with chicken, mutton, beef and patato. But its dish which I like rather love to eat is "Bhuni Arvi" and it is cooked seprately.In Arvi is cut like Patato chips but little thicker. Then it is fried in Oil very lightly. Then tomato and other few spices are added in it.
Now its color becomes Off White. Within few minutes it is ready. Now Lemon is squeezed over it and then..... hmmmmmm.... so tasty so so tasty.... Want to eat whole...It is eaten with bread. Its taste is so good but so much care is needed while cooking else it becomes sticky and its taste doesn't remain same then. When you put it into mouth, you feel as something milder than butter is put into mouth. Then sour taste of Lemon....hmmmn wow and then spicy Arvi....as some one added salt and chilli in butter....rather more tasty than that.... I Love Arvi... but
only when my mom cooks it....
